If you missed out on Caromont Farm’s last goat snuggle sesh, here’s another chance to get in on the action! On February 24, 2018, Caromont Farm is opening up for their first official snuggle session of 2018!
Although this farm is 2.5 hours south of our area (about 23 miles south of Charlottesville, VA), many NOVA families took the day trip. In fact, all previous sessions sold out almost immediately! This special event originated when the farm had about a hundred goats that were born there in less than two weeks, and the goats needed some outside help to get cuddled and loved (learn more about the original event here).
This casual day, which allows you to visit anytime between 11 am 4 pm, give you the opportunity to enjoy farm tours, visit with local businesses, and get up close and personal with all the farm’s baby goats! Advanced ticket purchase required to attend by visiting here.
Caromont Farm, in the heart of Virginia’s Piedmont region, produces both fresh and aged cheeses using milk from herds of Alpines, Saanens, and La Mancha goats. Caromont’s cow’s milk cheeses are produced from milk sourced from grass-fed Jerseys at Silky Cow Farm in nearby North Garden. All cheeses are made on the farm, are hand ladled, tended daily, and follow a seasonal path.
Tickets for this one-of-a-kind event are limited and can be purchased here. The snuggle session is rain or shine from 11 am-4 pm. Caromont Farm is located at 9261 Old Green Mountain Rd., Esmont, VA 22937.
