Yes, your child still needs to see a dentist with braces. Your Orthodontist will work together with your dentist to ensure optimal dental health. Your dentist makes sure that your teeth stay healthy while you are in braces, while Orthodontists monitor your teeth’ progress as they are getting straight.
Regular cleanings and cavity check-ups with your dentist will keep your mouth healthy for life. Remember, you can still get cavities when you are wearing braces, so always brush your teeth for 2-minutes, twice a day, with fluoride toothpaste, and floss daily.
