Earth Day at the National Zoo

Did you know that the National Zoo recycles approximately 100 tons of materials and composts 600 tons of waste each year? As a lead-by-example institution, they are a great place to celebrate Earth Day on April 21, 2018! In addition to the stunning array of animals and wildlife exhibits, visitors always love, enjoy green-themed activities, special demonstrations, and more.

At this special event, you can participate in a digital conservation scavenger hunt and visit a variety of family-friendly booths with information on reintroductions programs and zoo sustainability.

This rain or shine event is free and open to the public! The National Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008.
