CalendarApril Events

Did you know that the National Zoo recycles approximately 100 tons of materials and composts 600 tons of waste each year? As a lead-by-example institution, they are a great place to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2017! In addition to the stunning array of animals and wildlife exhibits, visitors always love, enjoy green-themed activities, special demonstrations, tours, and more.

At this special event, you can participate in a digital conservation scavenger hunt and visit a variety of family friendly booths with information on reintroductions programs and zoo sustainability. For those who wish to bike to the zoo, you can register for free bicycle valet parking and receive a special thank-you gift for helping to reduce carbon emissions (please note this is only available to the first 100 registered participants).

This rain or shine event is free and open to the public! The National Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008. Connect: OnlineFacebook | Twitter | (202) 633-4888.
