Opening Day of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

This highly-anticipated movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, can be seen locally on IMAX! The movie opens November 15, 2018, at the Airbus IMAX Theater at The Udvar-Hazy Center, a Smithsonian Air and Space Museum!

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans of raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings, Albus Dumbledore enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided world.

Did you know the IMAX theater at The Udvar-Hazy Center, is the first museum in the world to feature a laser digital projection system?

The theater was upgraded to the dual 4k laser projection system with a 12 discrete channel sound system and provides audiences with the sharpest, brightest, clearest, and most vivid digital images ever, combined with a whole new level of immersive audio. The upgrade also includes 3D capabilities with state-of-the-art 3D glasses that optimize the laser experience.
