Founder’s Day Festival

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

Celebrate the 54th anniversary of Reston’s founding by Robert E. Simon, Jr.! Bring friends and family to Lake Anne Plaza on April 14, 2018, for an afternoon full of family-friendly activities.

Enjoy live music performed by many local artists and schools, take a public art tour around Lake Anne, and even catch a screening of the film Remembering Robert Simon. The family fun will include entertainment by Mr. Knick Knack! and Merengue Magic, two moon bounces, children’s activities, and face painting.

Parents, visit RCC Lake Anne and preserve your memories of Reston by participating in the Storycorps program, meet local authors during an afternoon book-signing event, and discover how Reston has impacted Artist Zachary Oxman’s creative journey during a special Author Talk.

Most events are free of charge; however, a few will cost a nominal amount to benefit the Reston Historical Trust and Friends of Reston.

This special event will be held at the Lake Anne Plaza (Waterfront), located at 1609 Washington Plz., Reston, VA 20190.
