Free for 4th Graders: Every Kid in a Park

Encouraging fourth graders to connect with America’s beautiful lands and natural treasures, the Every Kid in a Park initiative, a free program, is the perfect push to get kids outside and away from their screens! Created and sustained by the National Park Service, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, along with a variety of other agencies who support this program, getting involved is easy for both educators and children.

1. Interested fourth-grade teachers and students should click here to complete some activities and download their free park passes! Students, you’ll be asked to identify your interests to make your park visits the most beneficial experience they can be.

2. Next, plan a visit, with a parent or guardian, to any of the participating parks found throughout the United States. For many visitors, this may include locating a place to stay and gathering the appropriate gear!

3. Now it’s time to hit the road or trail! Fourth graders should print out their park passes as electronic passes are not accepted. All passes have a unique code and cannot be copied or shared with friends.

Ready to get started? Hang tight as all incoming fourth-grade students should wait until September 1, 2016, to get their passes for the upcoming year. For more information on this initiative, please click here, and see where the road may lead you! Connect with Every Kid in a Park Online | Facebook | Twitter.
