You’re invited to a FREE Parent Education Seminar on Positive Discipline, featuring Dr. Rene Hackney of Parenting Playgroups, at Montessori of Gainesville on February 6, 2016, 3-5 pm.

As parents, we know that disciplining our children should be positive, constructive, and rational. However, despite our best intentions, we sometimes find ourselves yelling, fibbing, and using threats and bribes to shape our children’s behavior. This type of discipline often backfires and reinforces negative behavior…exactly the opposite of our intentions.
Please join Dr. Rene Hackney as she introduces positive discipline concepts, including:

• How can we discipline while also being kind, firm, and respectful to our children?
• What are alternative ways to saying no?
• How should we handle tantrums, whining, and power struggles?
• What techniques can we use to move through varying discipline exchanges with our child?

The goal of this seminar is to get comfortable with a variety of disciplinary techniques and to learn how you use them based on your unique child and common parent-child scenarios.

Please join the staff, teachers, and parents of Montessori of Gainesville for an Open House (2-3 pm) and then stay for this Parent Session with Dr. Rene Hackney (3-5 pm)!

The Montessori of Gainesville is located at 14130 Glenkirk Rd., Gainesville, VA 20155. Connect online, Facebook, and (703) 754-0946.
