Hammering Workshop for Kids
This is the type of event that I wouldn’t have understood the appeal of before I had children. However, with plenty of little feet underfoot, I totally get it! At this workshop on January 14, 2017, kids 7 and up will learn about the hammer. Not only will it be a learning opportunity, but also a hands-on, creative one, too! Kids will create nail art to take home while learning how to properly hold a hammer and learning what nails are best for varying jobs. Learn more.

The National Building Museum is the perfect place to teach these skills! While The National Building Museum isn’t initially thought of as a kid-friendly destination, DullesMoms.com sees it as one of our area’s hidden treasures, offering many kid-friendly touch-and-play exhibits and opportunities.
Visit the Building Zone, a hands-on introduction to the building arts designed especially for the Museum’s youngest visitors, age 2 to 6. Check out a Family Tool Kit or build an amazing arch. Best of all, visit PLAY WORK BUILD!, an exciting on-going exhibit that takes children and adults alike through an exploration of play with an immersive, hands-on installation featuring molded foam blocks of all shapes and sizes, and an original virtual block play experience.
