Harlem Globetrotters

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

Known for wowing spectators with their on-court antics and jaw-dropping performances, the Harlem Globetrotters are visiting Fairfax on March 17, 2017! Join them at EagleBank Arena for a 7:30 pm show.

The Globetrotters have a long and rich history of entertaining. Originally named the Savoy Big Five in 1926, the team was formed to promote a nightclub called the Savoy Ballroom. However, their popularity grew, and they became the Harlem Globetrotter after playing over 1,000 games around the country!

By 1941, under new management, the direction of the team changed to incorporate amazing comedy moves. Thousands of games later, the team was still entertaining and setting records — in 1950, Globetrotter Nathaniel “Sweetwater” Clifton became the first African-American player to sign an NBA contract!

Today, after nine decades, the Harlem Globetrotters continue a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages!
