Parkour, Tumbling, & Gymnastics

Whether your child loves sports or is more of a video game enthusiast, there’s one activity that most all kids will love: Parkour. You might’ve heard of the sport or seen it in the many YouTube videos showcasing people jumping and flipping off buildings and landmarks. However, there’s much more to the activity than just acrobatics — Parkour is a training methodology where participants focus on moving around and through obstacles. With Parkour, kids learn how to problem solve, push past limits, and build endurance and quickness . . . all while having fun!

Since it is a relatively new sport, few places in the area offer Parkour-only classes. However, many other facilities provide tumbling and gymnastics programs which incorporate many of the elements taught in Parkour and can help lay the foundation for Parkour training.

Younger children get a feel for Parkour in a play-based environment and older kids focus on skills, conditioning, and technique. Urban Evolution also offers summer day camps with classes for beginners through advanced — however, classes are popular and fill up quickly, so act fast! If you’re still not sure if Parkour is right for your child, Urban Evolution will let kids test out a class or two before committing to anything.
