Everyday Fun @ Clemyjontri Park

By DullesMoms, May 2023

Clemyjontri Park is a Northern Virginia favorite!

This 2+ acre all-inclusive, adaptive playground boasts six elevated climb-on structures, as well as a huge variety of ground-level climb-on features — both static and dynamic for kids of all abilities. There are also plenty of open space areas to run, as well as swings and even a maze to explore!

The rubber ground surface is stroller- and wagon-friendly, and there are plenty of shaded areas to sit at during warmer months. You’ll find picnic tables, vending machines (drinks, cash/credit), and on-site bathrooms, too. Learn more about Claemyjontri Park here.

Clemyjontri Park also features a carousel and a trackless train (called the Resource Railroad Train). While these features are usually open during select times of the year, their availability is sure to be impacted by the pandemic.

Carousel (Seasonal)
Just one of the many reasons to visit Clemyjontri Park, their fully accessible carousel features chariots, a spinning teacup, and 14 prancing steeds. Recessed to ground level so that it is accessible for wheelchairs, the carousel fulfills the vision of Clemyjontri: where children who use wheelchairs, walkers, or braces — or who have sensory or developmental disabilities — can have a parallel playground experience of fun and exploration.

Trackless Train (Seasonal)
Clemy’s trackless train takes you on a ride around the park! Riders can enjoy views of the natural park environment, the colorful playground, and the home to Adele Lebowitz, who donated the 18.6-acre property to the Fairfax County Park Authority in 1997. The trackless train is fee-based and runs seasonally.
