ChalkFest at Reston Town Center


Due to inclement weather, this event has been canceled.


The community is invited to the popular and highly-anticipated ChalkFest at the Reston Town Center September 14-15, 2018!

Not just a festival to visit and see — but a community festival to participate in! Professional and amateur artists, businesses, families, and kids of all ages are welcome to tap into some inspiration and create their very own chalk drawings all along Market Street.

The festival begins September 14, 2018, with professional artists, sponsors, and businesses invited to create their chalk masterpieces. On September 15, 2018, registered participants can begin their creation as early as 8 am and are requested to be done by 3:30 pm to be included in the judging. Festival presenter, Initiative for Public Art Reston (IPAR), will provide special pastel chalk, however, participants are welcome to bring their own chalk and tools.

The festival will award prizes for multiple categories, including professionals, amateurs, families and kids, and audience choice. See all the categories and prizes here.

This art-inspired fun all happens at Reston Town Center, located at 11900 Market St., Reston, VA 20190.
