Chalk Fest at Reston Town Center

Calendar > Chalk Festivals > September Events

The community is invited to the popular and highly-anticipated Chalk Fest at the Reston Town Center September 15-16, 2017! Not just a festival to visit and see — but a community festival to participate in! Professional and amateur artists, businesses, families, and kids of all ages are welcome to tap into some inspiration and create their very own chalk drawings all along Market Street. Learn more about the event here.

The festival begins September 15, 2017, with professional artists, sponsors, and businesses invited to create their chalk masterpieces. On September 16, 2017, registered participants can begin their creation as early as 8 am and are requested to be done by 3:30 to be included in the judging. Festival presenter, IPAR (Initiative for Public Art Reston), will provide special pastel chalk (a 12-, 24-, or 48-pack depending on your category), but participants are welcome to bring their own. See rules and tips here.

The festival will award prizes for multiple categories, including professionals, amateurs, families and kids, and audience choice. Cash prizes range from $40 to $1,000! See all the categories and prizes here.
