Smithsonian’s Chinese New Year Festival

The American Art Museum is home to the Smithsonian’s Chinese New Year Festival! Join in the fun on February 10, 2018, as they open their doors to celebrate the Year of the Dog! Children and families are invited to help “awaken the lion” and ring in the New Year while enjoying hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Enjoy traditional paper cutting, bristle dolls, dough sculpting, calligraphy demonstrations, and much more! Plus, don’t miss the mask coloring and New Year card making, an art scavenger hunt, red paper lantern making, and more.

This special annual event is being hosted at the American Art Museum located at 8th and F Streets NW, Washington, DC 20004.
