STEAM Family Day

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

Summer may signal the end of school, but it is still a time when kids and families can learn — and have fun while doing it! Visit the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for an engaging day of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) on July 14, 2018.

The accomplishments of the first century of flight — and the groundbreaking achievements currently underway in aviation, human spaceflight, and planetary exploration — are not possible without STEAM principles. Explore this intersection of STEAM and aerospace with hands-on activities and STEAM professionals working in the field.

Activities include:

• Learn how to code, build, invent, and animate with Boolean Girl (11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 2 pm)
• Safely look at the sun with a solar telescope
• Create structures that are works of art
• Learn to program robots that can travel to another planet
• Explore 60 years of NASA with Associate Administrator for Human Exploration and Operations Bill Gerstenmaier

Admission is free; parking is $15.

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is located at 14390 Air and Space Museum Pkwy., Chantilly, VA 20151.
