This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!
Get ready to climb aboard the trackless train at Clemyjontri Park!
The train, which started rolling in the summer of 2018, takes children and adults on a ride around the park, following the bike trail located near the playground area. Riders can enjoy views of the natural park environment, the colorful playground, and the house that was home to Adele Lebowitz, who donated the 18.6-acre property to the Fairfax County Park Authority in 1997.
The trackless train (fee-based) will operate May 27-September 1, 2019. Click here to see regular and special holiday hours.
Clemyjontri Park boasts more than 2-acres of fun. This all-inclusive, adaptive playground consists of four outdoor “rooms” surrounding a centerpiece carousel: The Rainbow Room, The Schoolhouse & Maze, The Movin’ and Groovin’ Transportation Area, and Fitness & Fun. In addition to a ton of climb-on structures for all ages and abilities, the rubber surfacing is stroller- and wagon-friendly. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit, picnic tables (some could be reserved for private use), on-site bathrooms, two vending machines, and much more.
Clemyjontri Park is located at 6317 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101. See a past photo review here, as well as tips and details to make your trip more successful!Learn more
