Co-Working Spaces That Offer Childcare

Juggling parenthood and a career is hard — flexibility is not often a word associated with the two ideas. However, the DMV is home to a few co-working spaces that not only offer a professional environment, but on-site childcare, too.

In need of occasional childcare? Check out these places that offer on-demand and hourly childcare.

Once Upon a Dream Work Room
Happily designed with the small business owner, freelancer, and entrepreneur in mind, Once Upon a Dream in Vienna, VA, is an ideal place for parents needing to balance work with busy children!

Conveniently located across the hall from the 2,700-square-foot Once Upon a Dream indoor play space, the Work Room offers an ideal working environment with access to high-speed wifi, snacks, printers, scanners, and of course, unlimited coffee! You can work while your little ones stay active and have fun under the supervision of Once Upon a Dream professionals.

Elemeno Coworking
Modern day coworking is child’s play at Elemeno, Washington, DC’s newest professional work environment. Ideal for business minded-folks, entrepreneurs, and individuals needing to work in a quiet place, Elemeno provides space for work and play!

Parents and guardians will enjoy plenty of workplace necessities like fast wi-fi, printers, flexible seating options, free coffee, and more. While you work, little ones will have access to SkillZone, Montessori-based centers full of age-appropriate fun. Parents can relax with live camera feed of children’s play areas or schedule a Play Buddy for drop-off, which gives your child individual attention with a CPR & First Aid certified Elemeno staff member. Check out the membership options or schedule your free trial today.

NOVA Playlabsworth mentioning
Although not a dedicated co-working space, many parents love using NOVA Playlabs to get some work done. Grab a table, connect with their free wi-fi, and your little one will love exploring the dedicated play area supervised by an attendant. The play space is open to children as young as 18-months-old for up to four hours per day (diaper changes are the responsibility of the parent). Reservations are not required, however, it is highly recommended to call ahead to confirm availability, especially on days when school is out.

Ridgetop Coffee & Teaworth mentioning
Ridgetop Coffee & Tea, located in Sterling, VA, near Costco, offers an abundance of seating, plenty of space to maneuver strollers and wiggly children, and a purpose-built children’s play area (check out pics here). The play area has a full glass wall, perfect for watching the kids while you take advantage of the free wi-fi. Please note, the play area has staff, but they are not dedicated attendants and parents are responsible for their children. However, this set-up might give you just enough time to squeeze in an important email or two.

The Rowan Treeworth mentioning
Tucked inside Sunset Business Park in Herndon, Virginia, the Rowan Tree is a co-working and co-growth space for all to enjoy! While the Rowan Tree is a women-focused community, all are welcome (men and non-binary persons, too!) to collaborate, network, join an event, or simply work in a peaceful space outside of the home.

Individuals may bring children who are less than 6-months of age as there is a lactation room on site, perfect for relaxing and tending to baby as needed. Various membership options include perks like onsite yoga classes, 24/7 access, member event pricing, and so much more!

Your Local Gymworth mentioning
Many gyms today offer more than a place to workout and get fit. Many offer childcare, too! So, after your workout, grab a seat in a common area and consider sneaking a few minutes to catch up on emails. We’ve heard great things about The Fitness Equation, Lifetime, and Sport & Health.
