Little ones will love the festive glasses\, too\, since their special lenses turn the lights into snowflakes! Warm up with hot cocoa\, cider\, and s’mores kits\, available for purchase. \nMembers can enjoy exclusive Member Nights (December 8-9)\, and grown-ups can plan a night out at the 21+ Adults-Only Night (December 16). Tune your radio to holiday music as you cruise\, and grab a pair of 3D glasses (sold at the park entrance) to watch select displays pop. Pick up a scavenger hunt card at the gate\, too — spot the hidden items along the route and enter for a chance to win a prize! \nFurry family members are welcome to ride along\, too. Don’t miss Lights & Leashes — three nights when you can stroll the route on foot with your leashed pup. Santa stops by during Lights & Leashes and on select days throughout the season\, so check the website for his schedule. \nEven better\, proceeds benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County\, the county’s largest and oldest animal welfare organization. \nThe show runs nightly\, including holidays. Buy tickets online to save time at the gate\, or purchase them there. Military personnel and first responders receive discounted admission at the gate with valid ID on December 21 and 27. \nCome back when the weather warms up\, too. Sandy Point State Park spans 786 acres along the bay\, with sandy beaches made for swimming\, sandcastles\, and picnics. If the beach isn’t your speed\, nature trails wind through the park\, many with sweeping bay views.

DESCRIPTION:The VRE Santa Train — one of our area’s most popular seasonal opportunities — returns December 12\, 2026\, for family fun on the tracks! These highly anticipated rides always sell out — so mark your calendars for November 30\, 2026\, when tickets go on sale. \nThis year\, tickets will be sold online only through Eventbrite until they sell out. Regardless of age\, all passengers (including infants) are required to have a ticket. Tickets are non-refundable and not available at the station on the day of the event. \n\nLike this? Find more Holiday Train Rides here! \n\nEnjoy a unique round-trip train ride with Santa\, Mrs. Claus\, and the cheeriest elves from the North Pole\, departing from VRE stations\, including Burke Centre\, Fredericksburg\, Manassas\, Spotsylvania\, and Woodbridge. \nBeyond the excitement of kids boarding and riding a real train on a round-trip adventure\, Santa and his friends will greet children and their families. They’re eager to hear excited kids’ wishes and share their stash of candy canes\, coloring books\, and other treats. Plus\, the ride carries an important message: Santa is on board to promote rail safety and Operation Lifesaver’s “Look\, Listen and Live” campaign. \nSpread a little holiday cheer\, too! Participating stations will also serve as drop-off sites for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign — bring an unwrapped toy to share the joy with a Virginia child in need.
