However\, the sun is actually a vibrant star\, continuously evolving and emitting energy into space. \nKnowledgeable staff will be there to answer questions and help you learn more about the largest object in our solar system! If clouds are blocking the view of the sky\, find us inside the Museum’s Space Hangar to see images of the Sun taken by a satellite. \nAdmission to this Smithsonian destination is free\, while parking is $15 per car. \nCommonly known as the Udvar-Hazy Center\, this Smithsonian museum is the second location of the National Air & Space Museum (the original\, on the National Mall in Washington\, DC). Like its sister museum\, the Udvar-Hazy Center showcases the history and science of aviation\, spaceflight\, planetary science\, and terrestrial geology/geophysics. \nWhile there\, visit the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar\, home to the museum’s biggest artifacts\, including the Space Shuttle Discovery\, a Concorde\, and a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. The museum also boasts an IMAX Theater (featuring a screen that is five stories high!) and an observation tower that gives visitors a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of Dulles Airport and the surrounding area.
