Drop-In Open Play Programs for Toddlers & Preschoolers


Community and recreation centers are great sources for open play times for toddler and preschool-aged children. Plus, they’re often low-cost, if not free!

No matter the weather, Arlington Mills Community Center is always the perfect temp inside! Parents and kids ages 1-5 can enjoy their free playtime in their indoor gym. Soft play balls and other toys are put out for kids to enjoy and make new friends.

Sometimes us parents just need four walls to corral the kids! Kids ages 1-5 will enjoy the indoor play time at Fairlington Community Center. The play area will feature soft play equipment in a fun, safe indoor play environment.

Bring your toddler and walkers through 5-years-old to Herndon Community Center and enjoy open play, tumbling on the mats, and kiddie basketball. This fee-based, open play session is open to the public, registration is through the WebTrac System or in-person at the Community Center.

Designed for children ages 5 and younger, the Soft Playroom offers a clean play environment to provide exercise for imaginations as well as bodies! Under guardian supervision, children can share play zones loaded with soft toys and activities with their families, playgroups, or new friends.
