Scouting Events & Activities in NOVA

Calling all scouts and kids of all ages! Volunteer two hours or more in the activities from Alexandria Earth Day Celebration’s Climate Change-Take Action idea list to earn your free Alexandria Earth Day badge!

Volunteer at Alexandria Earth Day on April 27, 2019; opportunities are available from 9 am to 3 pm
Participate in the Trashin’ Fashion Show at Alexandria Earth Day on April 27, 2019
• Participate in an educational tour or field trip at one of the following locations:

Alexandria Renew Enterprises Education Center
Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center
• Covanta Waste-to-Energy Plant (call (703) 370-7722, ext. 1613 to request)
UpCycle Creative Reuse Center

• Participate in a shoreline cleanup: Sign up for the Potomac Watershed Cleanup on April 13, 2019
Organize a drive to collect and donate used goods to an Alexandria-based organization
• Volunteer at a farmer’s market composting station (ages 10+); contact Josh Etim to request
• Write environmental advocacy letters to elected officials or speak at an event
