RFK Stadium’s Lot 8 will rev up with excitement with the District of Columbia’s annual Truck Touch celebration — a high-energy, hands-on experience for all ages.

Hosted on May 3, 2025, by the DC Department of Public Works, this free, family-friendly event invites kids to climb aboard big rigs while grown-ups get to test out equipment usually seen from a distance. The DC Department of Parks and Recreation will keep the energy high with interactive games and activities — including tennis, basketball, and fitness challenges.

Explore nearly 30 types of impressive vehicles from DC government agencies, like street sweepers and snowplows to dump trucks, police cruisers, fire engines, and even mobile medical units.

Plus, watch local students take the wheel as they navigate a dynamic track in electric vehicles they’ve engineered themselves. Get a front-row seat for the EV time trials from 9-11 am, followed by wheel-to-wheel racing kicking off at 12:30 pm.

Thanks to the DC Free Summer Meals Program, youth under 18 can grab a free packed lunch to fuel their fun-filled day.
