Great news for families who find themselves in a bind during extended school closures due to weather — when the snow and ice begin to fall and schools begin to close, parents are invited to take advantage of the Fairfax County Park Authority’s Snow Day Camps!

Camps for school-age children will be offered when schools are closed for two or more days in a row, between November 1-March 27, 2020, at:

• Audrey Moore RECenter (Springfield/Annandale, VA)
• Lee District RECenter (Franconia/Alexandria, VA)
• Oak Marr RECenter (Oakton/Vienna, VA)
• Spring Hill RECenter (McLean, VA)

Camps will begin on the second consecutive all-day school closing and will run from 9 am to 5 pm each day. Each camp will include games, sports, arts and crafts, and activities geared towards children ages 5- to 10-years-old. Please note, the dates above exclude holiday breaks and weekends, and camp will not be held should Fairfax County Government or the Fairfax County Park Authority close.

As soon as operation decisions are made by the county, families can register via registration links located here[2] or by calling (703) 222-4664 or visiting any participating RECenter. Spaces at the camps are limited and are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
