The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center invites you to Family Day!

On September 10, 2022, explore how scientists are expanding our view of the Universe with the help of new space telescopes and probes, like the James Webb Space Telescope. Team members will show you how these tools help us learn more about black holes, the earliest galaxies, asteroids, exoplanets, and more!

More than demonstrations and hands-on exploration, visitors can participate in solar observations with safe telescopes and enjoy conversations and Q&As with scientists, astronomers, engineers, and other experts. Plus, be a part of a collaborative art project and hear musical performances by The Chromatics, a high-energy vocal band with a full spectrum of songs about science and technology.

In addition to Family Day activities, enjoy the Center’s two huge hangars filled with thousands of aviation and space artifacts. See a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a Concorde, and even the Space Shuttle Discovery! In addition, this popular destination boasts an IMAX Theater and an observation tower that gives visitors a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of Dulles Airport and the surrounding area.

Admission to this Smithsonian destination is free, while parking is $15 per car.
