Junior Badge-Earning Event at the DAR Museum –

<< This in-person event is canceled for 2020; back to Scouting Events & Activities in NOVA

Junior Girl Scouts are invited to enjoy a special badge-earning program just for them at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Museum on May 2, 2020.

Scouts will travel back to 1913 to join the Women’s Suffrage Parade! They’ll create their own “Votes for Women” sash and write a speech advocating for a woman’s right to vote. Plus, they’ll learn about some of the movement’s heroines, including women who participated in the parade right here in Washington, DC. What would it be like to be a girl at this time? Why is it important that women have the right to vote?

Scouts will earn their “Playing the Past” badge (included in the ticket price).
