Join the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation this holiday season to celebrate the 100th lighting of the National Christmas Tree on November 30, 2022, on the Ellipse at President’s Park (White House). Free tickets for the ceremony will be awarded through an online lottery (Oct 25-Nov 1, 2022).
The tree, steeped in history and tradition, will be surrounded by 58 smaller trees decorated with one-of-a-kind ornaments. Each tree represents a US state or territory, as well as the District of Columbia. Fifty-eight artists gave their time and talents to design and create ornaments that symbolize their homeland’s history, heritage, and culture.
After the lighting ceremony and throughout December, visitors are invited to view the National Christmas Tree. On select nights, local and national music groups will provide holiday entertainment for a one-of-a-kind experience. The tree will be lit daily during the holiday season, from November 30, 2022-January 1, 2023, from approximately 4:30 to 10 pm.
