PosAbilities Academy is the perfect place for teens to spend their summer! Providing individualized programs for students in grades 9 through 12 with documented disabilities, PosAbilities Academy focuses on preparing all students for life and is ready for a summer full of fun!

The school’s unique multi-layer approach is driven with each child’s abilities in mind, and their 6-week summer program is centered around both vocational and living skills training.

Run by PosAbilities Academy’s experienced, dedicated, and nurturing staff, each week allows campers to explore their interests while developing life skills. Activities and field trips to local parks, farms, and recreation centers make for plenty of summertime excitement, too! Learn more about camps here.

• PosAbilities Academy has been thoroughly sanitized.
• PosAbilities Academy plans to intensify hygiene alert, including scheduled hand washing and daily cleaning routines for all staff and summer program attendants.
• PosAbilities Academy intends to limit the number of groups, including no groups of over ten people at their school (including students, teachers, parents and/or support professionals).
• If you, or your camper is sick (no matter who you are), please stay home!
• Field trips will be limited to Virginia’s Phase 2 opening guidelines (when in place). Field trips will be limited to locations that are implementing the same guidelines.
• PosAbilities Academy’s kitchen will be remained closed; students and staff will need to bring their own food each day, clearly labeled, and stored separately.
• PosAbilities Academy will continue to follow all CDC and local agency guidance and restrictions; everyone that comes into PosAbilities Academy will need to review and abide by the CDC guidelines, too (frequent hand washing, symptom checks, social distancing rules, face covering, etc.).
• PosAbilities Academy will also follow CDC summer program guidelines (prioritize outdoor activities, limit camp attendance to individuals in the same geographic area, post signs, maintain healthy environments, discourage sharing of items, etc.).
• PosAbilities Academy will follow Virginia’s re-opening guidelines (limit capacity, admit a limited number of campers to stay below 50% capacity, abide by no-groups of more than 10, and more).
• PosAbilities Academy will implement a check-in protocol for students being dropped-off (they will need to be checked-in before entering their facilities). Check-in procedures include a short symptom questionnaire and temperature check with a no-contact thermometer.
