More than 50 years strong, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival returns to Washington, DC, for two days of education, concerts, and fun, June 29-30, 2019!

Produced by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, the festival celebrates and honors contemporary living cultural traditions and the individuals and groups who practice them.

Free for all ages, the festival includes participants from all over the world and invites attendees to join in with singing, dancing, crafting, and so much more! This year, the festival celebrates the social power of music, with opportunities to learn more about how music entertains, educates, and inspires.
