Scouts Are Invited to Explore Space Science with NASA

On November 6, 2021, Girl Scouts are invited to Observatory Park at Turner Farm for a night under the stars! Scouts will participate in Space Science badge activities, with the chance to really explore the night sky — this extraordinary opportunity will focus on telescopes, including NASA’s new James Webb Space Telescope.

Also called Webb or JWST, this telescope is optimized for infrared wavelengths and will cover longer wavelengths of light than the Hubble Space Telescope. Longer wavelengths will enable JWST to look further back in time to see the first galaxies that formed in the early universe and to peer inside dust clouds where stars and planetary systems are forming today!

Pre-registration is required for Scout programs like this (link below).
