Dear Moss Building & Design,
With (all) the kids home for the time being, I’m longing for a better way to stay on top of our family’s laundry! Any advice?

Great question! We covered this topic in a blog post recently. However, the long and short of it is: get the family involved!
Not only is it a life skill for everyone to master, but it provides responsibility for each family to be in charge of (especially if everyone wants to wear clean clothes!). That being said, we have a few tips:
Laundry baskets for each member of the family.
These can serve double duty as their hampers and as a way to fold and transport clean clothes back to their room.
Designate laundry days.
Either per person or for the entire family. It’s not the most fun chore in the world, but if everyone has an assigned day, it makes it fast. Or, if the entire family is slugging it out on the same day, at least it all gets done collectively.
Create a better organization system in your laundry room area.
You can pretty easily add shelving, even in a utility room. This can be used to store your detergent, dryer sheets, bleach pens, and more.
And, probably the most important tip of all:
Have a good attitude.
Laundry never ends, so at least go into the process, knowing that you have a system that involves the entire family to take part.
