Discover the answer to this and more by participating in our first Summer Saturday of 2025. Storytime\, artifacts\, activities\, mini-lectures\, and more will be part of the program. \nJul 12\, 2025\nArchitecture of Tudor Place\nUpon Martha and Thomas Peter purchasing the land in 1805\, friend Dr. William Thornton got to work drawing up what is referred to as the Center Block of the house. DESCRIPTION:More than a historic house\, Tudor Place is an example of Federal-style architecture that tells us much about the people who lived and worked there\, and is home to an impressive collection of art (including sculptures\, watercolors\, sketches\, photographs) and archeological artifacts. \nOn Summer Saturdays\, delve deep into architecture\, art\, and archeology at Tudor Place: \nJun 14\, 2025\nArchaeology at Tudor Place\nHow has archaeology made a difference at Tudor Place? Discover the answer to this and more by participating in our first Summer Saturday of 2025. Storytime\, artifacts\, activities\, mini-lectures\, and more will be part of the program. \nJul 12\, 2025\nArchitecture of Tudor Place\nUpon Martha and Thomas Peter purchasing the land in 1805\, friend Dr. William Thornton got to work drawing up what is referred to as the Center Block of the house. This program will include a look at his architectural designs as well as records from the Historic American Building Survey (HABS)\, activities for all ages\, and guided architecture-themed tours of the site. \nAug 9\, 2025\nArt History at Tudor Place\nTudor Place is more than a historic house\, it’s an art collection. In this program\, participants will learn about the collection of art gathered by multiple generations of the Peter Family\, which included some members who were artists\, through storytime\, scavenger hunts\, short talks\, and more. \nPre-registration required; link below.
