Is a Virtual Consultation Worth It? –

<< More From Barakat Orthodontics

Dear Dr. Barakat,

With the onset of the pandemic, I have heard about Virtual Consultations. Is it worth it? What should I expect?

Dear Concerned Parent,

Whether you are trying to save time or minimize your in-office visits, a virtual consultation can be a great way to get your orthodontic treatment started!

I often get the question: “how can you tell me what I need if you don’t see me in person?” Well, the great thing about technology is that it makes it possible for me to have a good idea about your needs.

We ask that you send us a few photos, which I will review ahead of time. During your virtual appointment, my experienced treatment coordinator and I get to meet you “in-person,” review your photos, and answer your questions about orthodontics and options, all from the comfort of your own home!

Your final treatment plan will be determined once you do come into the office for an exam before getting started. And if we can get you started on the same day, that’s even better — one less visit!

Although the virtual experience does not replace the in-person visit, it will minimize your in-office time and get you on the right track to your beautiful new smile!
