Walk-Up Weekdays at National Museum of African American History and Culture

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

Although admission is free, traditionally the National Museum of African American History and Culture requires timed admission passes. Because of the popularity of the relatively new museum, these passes have been difficult to get unless you have planned weeks ahead, if not longer, in advance. However, weekdays in September (September 3-28, 2018), the museum will not require timed passes for visitors and groups of fewer than 10. Like many Smithsonian museums, just drop in Monday through Friday!

The National Museum of African American History and Culture invites you to join them to celebrate powerful moments in African American history. Opened on September 24, 2016, the Museum serves as the only national museum dedicated to housing documents, contributions, and artifacts of African American life, history, and culture. View more than 36,000 artifacts while learning about historical highlights, explore African American culture, and discover what it means to be an American. Learn more about the Smithsonian’s 19th museum here.

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture is located at 1400 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20560.
