Visitors are invited to kick-off Smithsonian’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Smithsonian’s National Zoo!

Join them September 21, 2019, for ZooFiesta: Un día de diversión animal para toda la familia, a fun-filled family day boasting free activities, including live music and educational activities about conservation in Central and South America.

This year’s event includes highlights like farm fish feeding, an armadillo meet-and-greet, and all kinds of chats and talks with the zoo’s keepers! Education Stations will be set up to inform and delight visitors with details on monarch butterfly conservation, bird-friendly coffee, and additional initiatives and research going on at the Zoo. Catch a sea lion demo and enjoy live music from Ocho de Bastos, Anaya Trio, or Zon Zandunga’s nine-piece orchestra!
