Quick look: Most Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30 am

Beginning in October, bring your toddler, walkers through 5-years-old, to Herndon Community Center and enjoy open play, tumbling on the mats, and kiddie basketball. Kids can run and exercise in the entire gym. This open play session is offered on most Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am and is open to the public. There is a $5. This open gym time takes place weekly from January 11-March 1, 2017 and March 15-May 10, 2017, but please always call ahead to confirm as cancellations can and do occur without notice: (703) 787-7300.

Visit the Douglass Community Center most Wednesdays for Preschool open gym from 3:15-4:00 pm. Preschool-aged children ages 2-5) can run, jump, and play in the spacious gym. Enjoy scooters, balls, the balance beam, and more in the community center gym. The cost is $1 per child at the door for both residents and nonresidents. Children ages 5 and under are invited to have fun most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30-11:30 am in the Sterling Community Center indoor gym. Beginning in early September, little ones will enjoy riding toys, balls, slides, and much more! The cost is $2.50 per adult per visit, or purchase an SCC Drop In Activities Card for $25. Quick look: Most Tuesdays, Fridays, 9:30-11 am

Beginning in late September, children ages infant to 4 years old are invited to have fun most Tuesdays and Fridays during the school year at Reston Community Center Hunter Woods. Tot Time is a free and unstructured drop-in playgroup that runs from 9:30-11 am and encourages parents to socialize with one another while their children become acquainted. Toys, games, books, and music are provided. This open gym time is on-going throughout the school year, but please call ahead to confirm as cancellations can and do occur without notice: (703) 476-4500. Tot Time will not be held on the following dates: January 20, April 11, April 14, and May 2, 2017.


Soft Play Room at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center & Aquatics Facility

Quick look: Most weekdays, 9 am to one-half hour before closing

Designed for children ages 5 and younger, the Soft Playroom offers a clean play environment to provide exercise for imaginations as well as bodies! Under guardian supervision, children can share play zones loaded with soft toys and activities with their families, playgroups or new friends. The hours are 9 am to one-half hour before closing; however, it is recommended to call the Center to check availability before attending, especially during peak times (weekends, rainy days, etc.).

The cost is $5 per child per half hour. The first chaperone is free; additional chaperones are $1 per resident and $4 per non-resident. This open gym time is on-going throughout the school year, but please call ahead to confirm as cancellations can and do occur without notice: (703) 746-5441.

Most Fridays from 10 am-12 pm from January 6-June 16, 2017, beginning in mid-September, bring your preschoolers to the Falls Church Community Center and watch them climb through tunnels, ride tricycles, and interact with peers. All equipment is provided, including ride-on toys.

The cost is $1 per child for both residents and non-residents, and please be sure to bring exact change. There will be no Tot Time on April 7 or April 14, 2017.

Starting each September, little ones will enjoy unstructured, drop-in play at Tot Time at the Southgate Community Center. Toys, games, books, and music are provided to create an experience for little ones to enjoy. This play time is on most Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 am-12 pm and is free during the school year.
