Monday Free Fun: The National Zoo Easter Celebration

This event has passed, but check out our calendar for fun today, this week, this month!

Bunnies may be the official animal of Easter, but the Smithsonian National Zoo has lots of other furry friends, and they’re inviting families to join them for the zoo’s annual Easter Monday celebration on April 2, 2018!

More: Easter-Inspired Events & Opportunities

Enjoy family activities, an egg hunt, animal demonstrations, and live entertainment, including a special appearance by the Easter Panda! The day will be full of opportunities to get up close and personal with zoo animals, like mole rats, tortoises, snakes, elephants, and even orangutans. This rain or shine event is free and open to the public.

Operated by the Smithsonian, this is one of the oldest zoos in the US. Open 364-days of the year (closed only on Christmas), this regional favorite doesn’t charge admission. Animals in a variety of sizes are exhibited throughout the 163-acre park — the Great Ape House, Reptile Discovery Center, and Giant Panda habitat are the most popular attractions, as well as their new carousel.

The National Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008.
