Look skyward, NOVA! Witness a solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, when the moon will obscure 89% of the sun!

Make your day even more memorable at the Solar Eclipse Festival hosted along the National Mall in Washington, DC, by the National Air and Space Museum and their partners. From 12-4 pm, you’ll find a variety of educational opportunities and activity stations, including telescopes allowing you to safely view the sun.

A limited number of solar eclipse glasses will be handed out during the event; a list of partners and a detailed activity map will be released before the festival.

The eclipse will be visible in the Washington, DC, area between 2:04 and 4:32 pm. Maximum eclipse will be at 3:20 pm, with the Sun 89% covered by the moon. This is an outdoor event, in the case of extreme weather, check this page for updates.
