National Christmas Tree Ceremony @ President’s Park

December 8, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Join the National Park Service and National Park Foundation this holiday season to celebrate the 101st lighting of the National Christmas Tree!

On November 30, 2023, hosted on the Ellipse at President’s Park, with the White House providing a breathtaking background — the National Christmas Tree will be lit by the US President and First Lady!

The tree is lit daily during the holiday season, beginning November 30, 2023 (open to the public December 2, 2023-January 1, 2024), from approximately 4:30 to 10 pm. In addition, on select nights, local and national music groups will provide holiday entertainment for a one-of-a-kind experience.

The tree, a 22-foot White fir from Pennsylvania, is steeped in history and tradition and will be surrounded by 58 smaller trees decorated with one-of-a-kind ornaments. Each tree represents a US state or territory, as well as the District of Columbia. Fifty-eight artists gave their time and talents to design and create ornaments that symbolize their homeland’s history, heritage, and culture.
