Join Mount Vernon for a summer evening of 18th-century entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, and more.

On June 8, 2024, enjoy an evening filled with 18th-century entertainment, including tavern games, lawn games, fortune telling, and music.

Tour the mansion, go on a scenic ride across the 12-acre field in a horse-drawn wagon, see how ice cream was made in George Washington’s day, watch live whiskey distilling and beer-making demonstrations, meet the ponies, and more. Mount Vernon’s Summer Huzzah concludes with a one-hour performance by The Washington Tattoo, followed by a meet-and-greet of the performers.

Come early for a special VIP experience before the public event begins. Enjoy a modern tasting menu inspired by the first-hand accounts of guests who dined at Mount Vernon while listening to 18th-century music by Donna Nomick and the hammered dulcimer. Plus, Mount Vernon’s Resident Baker Justin Cherry, of Half Crown Bakehouse, will talk with guests and share the historical significance of the menu.
