The Harlem Globetrotters Are Bouncing Into NOVA!

The Harlem Globetrotters, known for wowing spectators with their on-court antics and jaw-dropping performances, are coming to NOVA:

The Globetrotters have a long and rich history in entertainment. Originally named the Savoy Big Five in 1926, the team was formed to promote a nightclub called the Savoy Ballroom. However, their popularity grew, and they became the Harlem Globetrotters after playing more than 1,000 games nationwide!

Under new management, the team’s direction changed to incorporate amazing comedy moves by 1941. Thousands of games later, the team was still entertaining and setting records — in 1950, Globetrotter Nathaniel “Sweetwater” Clifton became the first African-American player to sign an NBA contract!

Today, after nine decades, the Harlem Globetrotters continue a world-famous tradition of ball-handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages!
