Add a splash of color to your family’s day at Art House 7 (AH7)! This cozy, two-story art studio in the heart of Arlington, VA, is a vibrant community where kids, teens, and adults alike are invited to discover the joys of artistic expression. Founded by two women artists, Art House 7 is proud to offer a nurturing environment where everyone, regardless of age or skill level, can make art, forge friendships, and, most importantly, have a blast doing it.

Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to revisit a long-lost hobby, AH7 offers a wide variety of classes, camps, and workshops. From the joy of ceramics and needle felting to drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, sewing, and more — there’s a way to spark creativity in your day!

This summer, kids are invited to join Art House 7, where every camp is an opportunity for kids to create memories and masterpieces! 2024 opportunities include:


Week 1: June 17-21, 2024


Clay Creations Camp • 9-11 am
Ages 8-11
Designed to spark imagination and nurture creativity, campers will learn hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, to create whimsical creatures, functional pottery, and/or three-dimensional sculptures.

Drawing & Printmaking Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
At this camp, kids will explore the fun of drawing with both traditional and unique tools such as sticks, charcoal, and ink on varied surfaces like paper, fabric, and stone. They’ll also try drawing on metal or rubber plates to print their art. This experience is designed to spark a love for drawing, creating, and experimenting.

Arts & Crafts Afternoon Camp • 2:30-4:30 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
Campers are invited to enjoy creative fun with new friends! They’ll enjoy a snack, play games, and create arts & crafts under the guidance of enthusiastic, dedicated counselors.


Week 2: June 24-28, 2024


Clay Creations Camp • 9-11 am
Ages 6-9
Designed to spark imagination and nurture creativity, campers will learn hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, to create whimsical creatures, functional pottery, and/or three-dimensional sculptures.

Painting & Drawing: Color Explosion Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
In this bright and colorful camp, campers will look at how artists use color to express moods and atmospheres. Color is one way that artists can give meaning to a picture and at camp, kids will learn about color mixing in both paint and drawing mediums.

Arts & Crafts Afternoon Camp • 2:30-4:30 pm
Ages 5-7Ages 8-11
Campers are invited to enjoy creative fun with new friends! They’ll enjoy a snack, play games, and create arts & crafts under the guidance of enthusiastic, dedicated counselors.


Week 3: July 1-3, 2024

Ages 6-9
Designed to spark imagination and nurture creativity, campers will learn hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, to create whimsical creatures, functional pottery, and/or three-dimensional sculptures.

Jewelry Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
Who doesn’t love a little adornment? This week, campers will sculpt beads and pendants with oven-baked clay, stamp metal, and hammer wire and learn beading and knotting techniques. Plus, kids get to take all their creations home, too!

Designed to spark imagination and nurture creativity, campers will learn hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, to create whimsical creatures, functional pottery, and/or three-dimensional sculptures.

Animals Around the World Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
Enormous, microscopic, hairy, scaly, cute, not so cute… Campers will look at the amazing variety of animals around the world and capture their likeness in pencil, pastel, paint, and sculptural form.

Arts & Crafts Afternoon Camp • 2:30-4:30 pm

Week 5: July 15-19, 2024

Let’s Draw, Paint, & Sculpt: Faces, People, & Animals Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
Using pastels, paint, and clay, campers will explore different techniques in drawing, painting, and sculpting the human face, as well as the faces of their favorite animals! They’ll also explore how other artists give faces expression and structure.

Arts & Crafts Afternoon Camp • 2:30-4:30 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
Campers are invited to enjoy creative fun with new friends! They’ll enjoy a snack, play games, and create arts & crafts under the guidance of enthusiastic, dedicated counselors.


Week 6: July 22-26, 2024

Designed to spark imagination and nurture creativity, campers will learn hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, to create whimsical creatures, functional pottery, and/or three-dimensional sculptures.

Painting American Artists Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
At this camp, kids will study modern American artists and their visual storytelling to inspire their own artwork. They’ll explore how these artists express themselves using color, nature, pop culture, graffiti, history, or personal stories. Using watercolor, tempera, and acrylic, campers will then create their own masterpieces.

“Green” Sculpture Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7 & Ages 8-11
In the “Green” art camp, kids will create sculptures using natural materials like wood, stones, and shells, alongside recycled items like cardboard and plastics. Camp focuses on sculpture concepts such as space, building techniques, texture, and color.

Art Adventures: Exploring Creativity Through Process Art Camp • 11 am-2 pm
Ages 5-7Ages 8-11
Art Adventures provides a vibrant space for elementary-age kids to explore diverse artistic methods and materials like paint, clay, and found objects, focusing on creativity over perfection. Through guided activities and open-ended prompts, campers are encouraged to use their imaginations and express themselves in new, creative ways.
