Big Calendar of Fun › Bluebells @ the Bend
On April 11, 2026, Virginia Bluebells are ringing in spring at Riverbend Park!
More than an opportunity to see these beautiful seasonal flowers, native to the woodlands of eastern North America, Bluebells at the Bend features wildflower walks, live animals, exhibitors, live music, kids’ crafts and hands-on nature activities, a puppet show, and food vendors. This annual spring festival is held next to the scenic Potomac River.
Tucked away in a remote river setting, Riverbend Park has more than 400 acres of forest, meadows, and ponds. The park features a 14-acre tallgrass meadow that offers viewing opportunities for songbirds and butterflies. Plus, bald eagles and osprey are two of the typical birds found here! Riverbend Park is packed with trails! Trails include a 2.5-mile portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail that links national and regional parkland.
Please note that Riverbend Park has high visitation on weekends and holidays, usually between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm. During high visitation, there may be significant delays in entering the park.
