Colonial Market & Fair @ Mount Vernon

Step back in time at Colonial Market & Fair, featuring food and wares made by colonial artisans! George Washington’s Mount Vernon invites you to experience an 18th-century marketplace on September 19-20, 2026.
Take in the sights and sounds of the marketplace on Mount Vernon’s 12-acre field and chat with artisans from across the nation selling traditional handcrafted wares — ceramics, furniture, glasswork, textiles, lanterns, soap, jams, fresh-baked bread, and more — as they demonstrate period crafting techniques.
The early American entertainment is a can’t-miss, too! Play colonial-era games like cricket on the bowling green, listen to live music (including a glass harp and hammered dulcimer), catch a traditional Punch and Judy puppet show, and watch conjuror Mr. Peter Gardiner present his illusions! Plus, don’t miss the chance to meet General Washington as he shares stories from his life and times at Mount Vernon.
