Childhood experiences in nature are vital for fostering lifelong respect and care for the environment. Did you know the National Park Service offers an annual pass giving 4th grade kids free access to almost all national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges, and more?
Through the “Every Kid Outdoors initiative,” the National Park Service aims to inspire the next generation to become stewards of the nation’s natural and cultural heritage. By providing 4th graders and their families with free access to federal lands and waters, the program encourages exploration, recreation, and education in diverse national settings.
To get this special 4th Grade Pass, qualifying students can visit the Every Kid Outdoors online, participate in an educational activity, and download a paper voucher which is exchangeable for a durable pass at participating federal sites nationwide. The pass is valid for a full year, providing unlimited access to participating federal lands and waters.
