The People’s House: A White House Experience

By DullesMoms, Sept 2026

Just one block from the White House, The People’s House: A White House Experience invites families to explore the history and traditions of America’s most famous residence in an interactive, engaging way. This 33,000-square-foot museum spans three floors and offers hands-on exhibits, detailed recreations, and immersive digital displays. General admission is free (with a suggested $15 donation to support their educational mission), but advance timed-entry pass reservations are highly recommended.

Your family is invited to step inside a full-scale replica of the Oval Office, explore a meticulously crafted model of the White House, and experience the beauty of the recreated Rose Garden. Enjoy interactive exhibits, like “A Day in the White House,” where kids can follow a President’s schedule, attend a virtual press conference, and even deliver a speech from a presidential podium!

The First Pets exhibit offers a fun look at the furry and feathered companions who have lived in the White House, while the Family Theater showcases historic presidential moments on screen.

Since its 2024 opening, this privately funded attraction has earned national recognition, including a spot on USA Today’s “10 Best New Museums” list!
