Co-Working Spaces That Offer Childcare

Juggling parenthood and a career is hard — flexibility is not often a word associated with the two ideas. However, the DMV is home to a few co-working spaces that not only offer a professional environment, but on-site childcare, too.

In need of occasional childcare? Check out these places that offer on-demand and hourly childcare.

Play, Work, or Dash
Located in the heart of Vienna, VA, Play, Work, or Dash offers parents the opportunity to work in a professional setting without interruption while their children, ages 9-months to 8-years-old, receive quality childcare on-site for up to 3-hours per day. Play, Work, or Dash offers a variety of memberships, as well as the ability to purchases passes without a membership.

Workafrolic
Workafrolic, located in Washington, DC, offers a co-working space with on-site childcare for kids ages 4-weeks to 6-years-old. Workafrolic offers flexible memberships, as well as drop-in opportunities with advanced registration (to maintain a 1:4 caregiver to child ratio).

Hatchcoming soon
Anticipated to open in Washington, DC in the fall of 2018, Hatch was born from the founder’s own experience navigating professional and personal schedules. Hatch will serve a growing community of parents who need flexible childcare to align with their professional schedules.

Once Upon a Dream Work Room
Happily designed with the small business owner, freelancer, and entrepreneur in mind, Once Upon a Dream in Vienna, VA, is an ideal place for parents needing to balance work with busy children!

Conveniently located across the hall from the 2,700-square-foot Once Upon a Dream indoor play space, the Work Room offers an ideal working environment with access to high-speed wifi, snacks, printers, scanners, and of course, unlimited coffee! You can work while your little ones stay active and have fun under the supervision of Once Upon a Dream professionals.

NOVA Playlabsworth mentioning
Although not a dedicated co-working space, many parents love using NOVA Playlabs to get some work done. Grab a table, connect with their free wi-fi, and your little one will love exploring the dedicated play area supervised by an attendant. The play space is open to children as young as 18-months-old for up to four hours per day (diaper changes are the responsibility of the parent). Reservations are not required, however, it is highly recommended to call ahead to confirm availability, especially on days when school is out.

Ridgetop Coffee & Teaworth mentioning
Ridgetop Coffee & Tea, located in Sterling, VA, near Costco, offers an abundance of seating, plenty of space to maneuver strollers and wiggly children, and a purpose-built children’s play area (check out pics here). The play area has a full glass wall, perfect for watching the kids while you take advantage of the free wi-fi. Please note, the play area has staff, but they are not dedicated attendants and parents are responsible for their children. However, this set-up might give you just enough time to squeeze in an important email or two.

Your Local Gymworth mentioning
Many gyms today offer more than a place to workout and get fit. Many offer childcare, too! So, after your workout, grab a seat in a common area and consider sneaking a few minutes to catch up on emails. We’ve heard great things about The Fitness Equation, Lifetime, and Sport & Health.
