Annually, the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) collaborates with the United States Forest Service to choose the US Capitol Christmas Tree to adorn the west lawn of the US Capitol building. For 2025, the tree is a 53-foot red fir from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada!
The official lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 2, 2025, on the West Front Lawn of the US Capitol. The tree will then be lit from dusk until 11 pm each evening through early January 2026.
