Make a splash at Reston Museum’s Cardboard Boat Regatta on August 8, 2026!
Hosted on the water at Lake Anne Plaza, come as a spectator or a racer! Participating teams of all ages will construct and decorate life-size boats using cardboard and duct tape. Boats will take to the water in timed heats with team members rowing out to a designated buoy and back. This community favorite grows every year, drawing thousands of spectators to cheer on their favorite boats!
Ready to race? Register your team here, or spend a fun afternoon cheering on life-size cardboard boats as they set sail on Lake Anne! This event is held rain or shine; all proceeds benefit the Reston Museum.
Please note that parking fills quickly — consider North Shore Drive, Baron Cameron Park, or free weekend parking in the garage at Reston Town Center (about a 1-mile walk).
