On October 11, 2025, celebrate history, culture, and community at Douglass Legacy Day — a heartfelt event honoring the legacy of Douglass High School, Loudoun County’s first and only African-American high school from 1941 until the end of segregated education in the county.
Hosted at the historic Douglass High School, adjacent to Douglass Community Center, this special event offers families a full day of fun and learning! Even better, admission is free.
Get creative at hands-on stations, like sand art and jewelry making, and enjoy lawn games, face painting, balloon twisting, and more. See live juggling and magic shows, burn some energy on the moon bounce and inflatable mini golf course, visit the petting zoo (fee-based), and even take a mini train ride (fee-based).
Entertainment highlights include:
- Mike G & Friends ∙ Jazz & R&B
- Ms. Ky Speaks ∙ Spoken word poetry & song
- CHOSEN ∙ Christian, spiritual, & gospel music
- Quiet Fire Soul Show ∙ R&B, jazz, blues, & Motown
- Opus Dance Movement
- Intellect & The Intellectuals
This celebration combines live music, performances, history, and interactive fun into one meaningful neighborhood event!
