Curious George @ National Children’s Museum

Jul 19, 2026 @ 9:30 am-4:30 pm

The National Children’s Museum sparks curiosity and creativity in the littlest of learners! This playful indoor family destination offers a wide range of interactive activities, exhibits, and experiences centered on science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Alongside its permanent lineup, the Museum hosts special, limited-time exhibits — and right now the Visiting Exhibit Hall belongs to everyone’s favorite monkey:

Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!
May 23-Sep 6, 2026

Step into the beloved neighborhood of Curious George, the playful primate who has captured hearts and imaginations for 85 years, as the Visiting Exhibit Hall transforms into an immersive, STEM-powered adventure!

Operate pulleys to move George across an apartment building, putt through mini golf holes using pipes and ramps, tend farm animals, and build your own whirligig. This hands-on exhibit brings H.A. and Margret Rey’s classic stories to life in the most delightful ways.

Young visitors explore physics, engineering, and math through play: sorting produce at a sidewalk stand, constructing buildings at a city worksite, even stepping into the rocket George rode on his space adventure. Designed for learners ages 3-7 and their families, and included with Museum admission.

There’s plenty more to explore, too! Whether it’s your child’s first visit or their tenth, these features are always worth a visit:
