Pack your own picnic basket (or purchase food and beverages in the Tavern Tents) and enjoy a day of thrilling steeplechase racing on October 28, 2023!

In addition to the race, activities for the day include terrier races, shopping, hat contests, tailgate contests, and some of the best steeplechase racing you’ll find anywhere.

Tailgating at the Virginia Gold Cup races is also a time-honored tradition, so make the most of the day and participate in the Tailgate Contest. The best tailgates have a theme, decorations and special food and drink recipes. Reserved tailgating spots are available on the North Rail, South Rail, and on Members Hill.
